During a recent town hall meeting held at the Adrianfu Gazebo, community members voiced both optimism and concern regarding the initiative. Robin Brown, a 56-year-old grandmother and long-time Mackney resident, expressed her positive outlook. "I believe this initiative could bring new opportunities to our town. If we all work together, we can create a better future for our children and grandchildren," she said. Conversely, 19-year-old Phillip Taylor shared a more anxious perspective. "I’m worried that this plan might not consider the needs of younger people like me. We want jobs, but we also want to make sure we’re not just filling positions that won’t be sustainable in the long run," he noted. Local officials are taking these sentiments to heart. The town's Economic Development Committee plans to conduct a series of focus groups over the next month to gather further insights from various demographics, including young adults and seniors. Committee chairperson, Julia Marks, stated, "We want to ensure that our initiative reflects the needs and desires of everyone in Mackney.
