A local acupuncturist, Lynn Price, hilariously thwarted a bicycle theft on Fifth Avenue with nothing but a broom and some quick thinking, turning her into an overnight crime-fighting sensation.

In a twist that sounds more like a sitcom plot than real life, a local acupuncturist became an unexpected hero this week as she helped foil a petty theft on Fifth Avenue. Lynn Price, 26, was minding her own business at her clinic when she heard the telltale sounds of a not-so-sneaky thief at work.
According to witnesses, the thief, clad in what can only be described as a questionable disguise (think ski mask and flip-flops), attempted to make off with a bicycle parked outside Lynn's clinic. "Honestly, I thought he was just having a really bad fashion day," Lynn remarked with a laugh. "But then I realized he was trying to steal my neighbor's bike!"
Lynn, ever the logical thinker, wasted no time. She quickly grabbed a nearby broom, which was probably more effective than any crime-fighting tool, and made her way outside. "I figured if I couldn’t acupuncture his bad decisions away, I could at least scare him off with a broom!" Lynn quipped. Her quick thinking worked; the thief panicked and dropped the bike, making a hasty retreat down Fifth Avenue while leaving a trail of embarrassment in his wake.
The police arrived shortly after, but by then, our would-be thief was already running faster than anyone on their morning jog. "It's not every day you hear about an acupuncturist becoming a crime fighter, but hey, I guess everyone has to find their calling!" Lynn added, still chuckling about the incident.
While there were no injuries reported, Lynn's impromptu crime-fighting skills have made her a local celebrity. Residents are now debating whether to start a new fitness class at her clinic—'Broom Defense 101.'
As for the thief? Reports indicate he may want to consider a career change, preferably one that doesn’t involve theft. But hey, with luck, he might just find himself on the receiving end of some acupuncture treatment for his bad choices in the future.
